The novel, Treasure Island, has become a little more interesting as I continue to read it. An important detail that adds the the conflict is that most of the crew on the Hispaniola were actually pirates planning to take of the ship. This adds to the suspense I think because it makes you wonder what will happen next. Other than that though, there haven't been any real plot twists. The style, because the story is told in first person, is very interesting considering it is from one person's point of view. The language is also easy to interpret bececause the only words I don't know that well are the parts of a boat and sailor-talk. Luckilly, there are plenty of footnotes. I think, considering the style of the story, the novel can be for all ages. As far as I've gotten, there hasn't been an obvious hint or even subtle clues as to what the theme of the story could be. Also, there is a new character that was just revealed named Ben Gunn, who was marooned on the island. But I don't know much about him yet. The last point I have to make is that the book is a little bit boring. For most of the first half of the book, the plot didn't seem to go anywhere. However, it seems to be picking up. Still, I probably wouldn't want to finish the novel if I had the choice. I guess it just isn't getting my attention.
